One Room Challenge Fall 2019 Week 2
My first week of of the One Room Challenge is always getting a plan. I have spent the entire week pulling together a look for my pre teen boys room. Here are the details:
This room will be a mix of using what I have and buying things new…. or new to me. Lets start with the items I have ordered this week.
Good ole Ikea is coming to the rescue with an affordable loft bed. It gets great reviews. The only thing I don’t like is the gray fabric. Maybe its not that bad in person. It might be a small hack I might try…..
I have been wanting to find a space for this rug for some time. I love it. My son’s blue dreams have come true… but its kind of a grown up blue. Don’t worry, I will be adding blue in other ways to the room.
I am going to attempt my first install of removable wall paper. I actually cannot wait. The reviews say its wipeable which is much better than the dirty white walls from his feet.
These type of items are usually not my jam but I have a kiddo that likes to be creative and I don’t think he always needs to be sitting at a desk.
It might be too visually bulky with everything else in the room I just thought it actually might be a nice thing for him storage wise and color wise.
My other thought, to create function and avoid bulk is a clear acrylic table.
I am going to be adding some seriously needed function to my son’s closet with this narrow Pax Wardrobe. It will be packed out with shelves and drawers. I wont put doors on it but I will put lots of storage.
Okay UPS delivery man hurry quick! I am not buying everything online. I am going to look local for a bean bag chair and other fun pieces. These are the pieces that are bigger and will take up the bigger part of the budget so I needed to get them ordered.
Next week we will begin beefing up those built ins!
If you missed my post last week check out week 1 here.
Don’t forget to check in on the designers spaces. They posted yesterday. Today there is tons of great progress with the other guest designers. Check their progress here! See you next week!
