Nothing much happening over here that is monumental to the online world but honestly monumental to me. While working full time and figuring how to entertain my kid in a world where no pool or summer activities are open, I am just painting some walls white. Has anyone ever told you that painting walls white can mess with your eyes? I have put four coats on the walls just to make sure the walls are covered. I am liking the crisp white paint but this pattern loving girl needs a little more…
My Trim is Benjamin Moore Simply White. It is a softer white and my “go to” for white cabinets and trim. I use Benjamin Moore Advanced in a Satin Finish on trim,
I like to do something a little different on the walls if I am doing all white. Just a bit to get some texture and make all white seem less sterile.
To give the White Walls Depth – #1
I put a softer white on the trim (see above) purer white on the walls to give a little dimensions
Scroll up to see the difference. The computer makes it seem the two are extremely different. They are not but… just enough.
To Give White Walls Depth – #2
I do a different sheen on the trim and walls. This is a must if you choose the same color in my opinion.
Now to the wall stencil. I chose this one above. I will post more about it next week. A little preview… I am going to take away the scallops and just keep the starburst.
The entire pattern (with the scallop, the entire pattern is 6.7 inches). I am thinking the starburst alone will be about 3″. I am also hoping that without the scallop the stencil will look like a small print wall paper with a white background…
The stencil arrives Tuesday. It could make or break the room….. but more than likely break me LOL!
